Subject
CORE in the 21st century.
Description
A photo of President George W. Bush speaking at CORE ceremony right before the 2000 presidential elections. He was widely accused of stealing this election by illegally denying the right to vote to Blacks in Florida. He represents everything that CORE once fought against and is representative of what Roy Innis has made CORE into in the 21st Century. The image of him standing over the what is essentially the Black nationalist flag is striking, as in the Sean Hannity photo.
CORE started as a pacifist organization which saw its members beaten, jailed and murdered in its fight to gain Blacks the right to vote, decent housing and social services. Its leaders , as well as Dr. King and many other civil rights leaders, were victims of the FBI's counter intelligence program and classified by federal law enforcement agencies as 'domestic terrorists'. George W. Bush is the son of former President and former CIA director George H.W. Bush.
