Harlem CORE members

This is a photo of Harlem CORE vice chairman James Howard (front, covering face) and Bronx CORE member of Rupert Boynes (hat, beard). They are doing the ‘perp walk’ after having been arrested for kidnapping, assault and unlawful imprisonment. The two along with Bronx CORE chairman Cyril Boynes responded to an attack on Harlem CORE member Alexander Innis, Roy Innis’ son. They went to Alexander’s high school, took his assailant’s from the school to CORE headquarters where they were beaten with a coat hangers and rubber hoses. The Boynes brothers are nephews of Roy Innis. All three eventually plead guilty and received three years probation.
