These are many of the items I found at the Schomburg, one of the best collections of Harlem CORE materials I have come across in my research.
Rights and Reviews was the in house journal of Harlem CORE. Used as propaganda and a fund raising tool, it was sold by members and on consignment in local stores. Dorris Innis was the editor.
She was also the editor for the first few issues of CORE magazine, the in house journal for National CORE after 1970. Dorris Innis is in the picture to the right of the red, black and green covered CORE magazine.
The photo of a young Roy Innis, as well as the photos of Dorris and the Harlem CORE members sitting at a table in the Harlem CORE office, are from the Austin Hansen collection. Mr. Hansen's studio was up the block from Harlem CORE's 135th st. office in the 1970's. He took several photos of Harlem CORE which can be seen in the Photo Division of the Schomberg.
The other photos are from CORE magzine.
