Items from the Schomburg Research Library (Harlem, USA)

The items in this exhibit are from different sections of the Schomburg Research Library.

The Schomburg Library on 135th st. and Lenox ave., one block over from Harlem CORE's office in the 1970's, has the best collection of Harlem CORE documents that I have come across yet. The staff were very helpful, especially the Photo division. This is my way of saying thank you to probably one of the greatest archives for Black history in the world.

Schomburg exhibit

Contains photos from the Austin Hansen collection, cover photos of CORE magazine and issues of Rights and Reviews, the in-house Harlem CORE journal edited by Dorris Innis.
