This is a 1966 photo of Bernadine C. Wesley, New York CORE's first vice chairman. When she remarried, she became Bernadine Wesley Warren.
From a West Indian family, she was born in New York and raised in Harlem. An engineer, she was the chief draftsman for Decitron Electronics at the time of the photo and still an active member.
She was also the chairman of the Membership Committee under both Gladys Harrington and Clarence Funnye and chairman of the Research Committee under Marshall England.
