James Peck is an original member of CORE. His participation goes as far back as the original Journey of Reconciliation in 1947.
He was a member of New York CORE but stayed an active member of the chapter after it moved to Harlem. He was also a national officer as the Editor of the CORE-lator, CORE's national newsletter.
An alumni of Harvard University, he was from a very well to do and wealthy family.
