Well known for sticking up for 'the little people' against even the most powerful including Mayor of New York Ed Koch, she became a highly respected Legal Aid attorney and sitting judge, a career directly influenced by her time in CORE. Apparently, she was so well thought of as a judge she was re-elected to the position days after she had passed.
