Description
This is a 1963 photo of New York CORE member Gloria Bouknight at the Harlem hospital demonstration. This is one of the most well known photos of a civil rights demonstration in New York City. Often reproduced on covers and in books on the movement, it was prominently featured at the 2012 'Activist New York' exhibit at the Museum of the City of New York.
During her time in the chapter, she served as chairman of the membership committee.
