Harlem CORE members

Description

This is a group photo of several New York CORE members taken at an event supporting the demonstration at the 1964 World's Fair. Ronald Stark, one of the editors of the chapter's in-house journal 'Rights and Reviews', is the White male on the right standing between the two women. As of 1968, Stark was still a member of New York CORE.

The photo comes from an Amsterdam News piece but some members were misidentified. Standing from left to right is John Milton, also one of the editors of journal 'Rights and Reviews'. Next is New York CORE chairman Marshall England. Auttie Boatswain is the woman in the center. James Springer, the chapter Treasurer at the time, is the light skinned Black male standing directly behind her. Jewell Curvin is the woman standing left of Stark. The identity of the Black male standing behind Stark is unknown at this time.

I have included the original article with their names in the link below the photo.
